The challenge

Listen to this quote by George Barna

It is not enough for the pastor to pray fervently, nor is it sufficient for a leadership team to pray ardently on behalf of the congregation.  Until the church owns prayer as a world-class weapon in the battle against evil and cherishes prayer as a means of initimate and constant communication with God, the turn-around efforts of a body are severaly limited, if not altogether doomed, to failure.

Are you ready to fight for the future of your church?  Start praying today – for increased faith, changed hearts and unity of the entire Body of Christ.  Remember, Christ is counting on you!

  1. Amen!!!! There is power in individual prayer, but I believe there is even more so when a group of believers are united in prayer. Let’s unite in our community of faith and uplift our pastor, staff, leaders and congregation each day in fervent prayer.

As Pastor Jerry has stated, God has big plans for TTUMC. Let’s not have those plans unfulfilled simply because we have not prayed!!!

  2. The church I grew up in for a time was known to some people as “the praying church”. GOD worked miracles in people’s lives as everyone was praying for these people. Now I don’t see that church growing much and I haven’t heard of them praying like that for years.

Prayer has changed my life recently, I can only imagine what would happen if the whole congregation started praying as one. We serve the same GOD, why are having trouble unifying in HIM?

  3. Good question, Sarah – why is it so hard for us Christians to come together in prayer to God?

If we would do as the Acts 2 church did and prayer together – the power that the Holy Spirit would release would be incredible! The question is – do we believe that God will answer our prayers?

  4. A church that prays together, stays together.
