How do we pray for the November elections?

“I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people.  As you make your requests, plead for God’s mercy upon them, and give thanks. Pray this way for kings and all others who are in authority, so that we can live in peace and quietness, in godliness and dignity.” 1 Timothy 2:1-2

Paul’s instructions to Timothy apply to us as well.  No matter what our feelings are about our President and the candidates for President, our responsibility as Christians is to pray for each of them - for God’s protection and guidance in each decision they make. In addition, we need to pray for all eligible voters in this country.  Pray that each citizen will take that responsibility seriously and not rush into a decision on who they will vote for, but take the time to examine the candidates views and past voting record.  Most of all, we need to pray that everyone will vote; apathy is a weapon from satan and has for too long taken hold of our country.

To help you in your prayers for the upcoming election, I recommend that you visit the website for The Presidential Prayer Team (www.presidentialprayerteam.org) which is updated each day with specific prayer requests for our President, other national leaders and our country.

I urge you to join me today in praying for our future President and for all other candidates who will be elected in November.  Remember, there is power in prayer!

  2. Greg,
Thank you for providing your website, the more information on the internet about God’s word, the better!

  3. Jackie,
Thank you so much for all you do. We need to pray for all things that we have as a free country, as freedom does come with a price, our men and women in service giving their all. It is a blessing we can attend church, and pray openly without going to jail! Praise God!
